Workshop – Innovation & Collaboration

The claims team at this global insurer have worked hard to overcome historic challenges. Now in a position to capitalise on this progress, they decided to use the momentum to take their offering to the next level; to be seen as the insurer of choice for their clients and to become truly market leading.

Client Objectives

Recognising the competitive nature of the market they asked us to help and, in collaboration, we designed a one-day offsite workshop that would:

    • Ensure all the team have total clarity on the vision and the importance of their role

    • Align the team behind the corporate 2017/8 objectives

    • Empower the team with knowledge and the motivation to contribute

    • Create a space to innovate and generate new ideas to achieve team goals

    • Instil the importance of contributing to the team, both now and going forward

    • Generate enthusiasm for their involvement in future plans

    • Ensure continued effective collaboration beyond this session – taking it back to the office

The process

Working with this cross class claims team of 25 technical experts from the marine, aviation, property, liability and professional lines divisions the day was facilitated offsite by two professionals. We ran the day to a structured agenda to ensure goals of the session were met and this included plenty of time to discuss the challenges and opportunities within the business, generate innovative new ideas, stress test and refine these, create action plans and ultimately present the best 4 ideas to management for progression.

The results

 The team worked together and came up with over 40 new ideas; each of which aligned with one of the key business objectives set for the day (these included client excellence, efficiency and business growth).

The team presented their top 4 ideas to management and on follow up one month later, I'm delighted that these 4 new ideas are being progressed to the next stage as well as several others that were generated on the day.
